First week in Iloilo

14 January 20
That day I am so excited; my friends pick up me to airport. Then, I got on plane at 10.40 a.m. to go to Suvarnabhumi Airport. My father waited for me in the airport. He is very worried because this first time for me to go abroad by myself. Furthermore, I can a little speaks English.

I got on plane again at 10.25 p.m. for going to Philippine and me arrived airport, Manila at 3.45 p.m. Although I prepare myself for replying question from immigration, I cannot communicate with them in English because I don’t understand anything which them said. During this situation I want to cry. It so hard to explain my emotion while I can’t ask someone for helping me because people surround me were foreigners, but finally I can pass that situation. After that, we waited around 4 hours to get on plane to go to Iloilo City.

15 January 20
My friends and I arrived at Iloilo airport at 10.00 p.m. We late because our fight delayed around 1 hour. At the airport coordinators waited for us and others who joined SEA Teacher project. We introduced yourself then we go to the van to waited others. I’m very happy because I met both of Thai girls who study mathematics, VRU, Thailand (Benz and Paino) in van.Then, I met Andine and her friends from Indonesia. They are very nice and friendly. We go to the restaurant to had lunch. Some friends who joined SEA Teacher and SEA T-vet were waiting for us in restaurant already. I am little hungry because I ate bread in plane already.

l got bed news because I must separate from my friends as soon as we ate finished. Both Janji and Ton stay in main campus at Lapaz but I must go to Miagao with 12 people (6 of SEA Teacher and 6 of SEA tvet).

Around 2 hours from Lapaz, finally we arrived in Miagao. Maiagao likes my hometown so quiet and not engaged but Miagao near sea, my home town near mountain. First time when we arrived miagao. We met many of the personnel who work at ISATU, Miagao and professors then we take a picture together.

Next we go to boarding house which we must stay during an exchange in here. This place had two of the buildings. I and two of Thai friends (Ticha and Benz from VRU, Thailand) stay at second floor of two building. I’m happy and comfortable to stay with them. In evening my coordinator took us to eat Japanese food, most of food very sweet and oily but I like sushi so fresh and delicious.

16 January 2019
In morning, I joined orientation project, met university president and introduction officials. In afternoon, we went to SM mall. I so excited because I saw Thai products in here. Then, we go to Iloilo esplanade and met prime minister of tourism regional v1 after that, we took pictures together. Then I go back to Miagao, Ma’am Mosura (my coordination) paid food for us.

We wake up early to go to rural market with buddies. We bought ingredients for cooking Thai food In the morning. Market had lots of people who wake up early same as us. In my opinion, Some ingredients such as vegetables more expensive than Thailand.

We go to ISATU,Miagao to meet our mentor and our buddies after we had lunch together and in evening we went to Miagao church. This church is one of the finest examples of baroque architecture embodying the graceful blending of Spanish and Filipino culture. It was declared a UNESCO world in 1993.

18 January 2019

That day I got a student card and some teacher led us to explore the encampment of Miagao national high school. Than, I met my cooperative teacher (ma’am Nabua). We talked topics and content which I teach and time to teach until 12.00 a.m. than I go to had lunch with ma’am Mosura and our mentor that first time of me to rode e-trikes so avengers.

19 January 2019

In the morning, we had activity with our buddies and ma’am sunshine who is an owner bolding house. We walked around seashore.
Seashore in here had black sand. And then ma’am paid pizza for us. We got to Hablon weaving. This place we learned process of weaving classics hablon by local weavers. Some friends bought that cloth but I didn’t buy it because it as same as Thai loincloth.

One of week which I stay here. That day, we went to Lapaz to learn to culture.

Second week in Iloilo

On Monday I observed my cooperative teacher taught chemistry after she told me to taught chemistry on next day. That night I spend lots of my time for preparing my lesson plan. I little warrior because I must follow Filipino form to write lesson plan and this first time for me to write lesson plan in English. I thought that so hard and so challenge but I tried to prepare it completely for teaching my students both of grade 10. This week I always prepared lesson plan and teaching practice.

On weekend, I so happy because we went to lapaz to joined Dinayang festivity.

The Dinagyang Festival is celebrated every fourth weekend of January to honor the Christianization of the natives and to respect the Holy Child Jesus. On this day, streets of Iloilo City will once again come alive as the Ilonggoscelebrate the annual festivity.

Third week in Iloilo

My activity in this week like second week. I slept late and woke up early to prepare my lesson plans, powerpoint presentation and assignment for teaching my students. My mentor estimated me on wednesday. That day I’m so excited because I have experiment in my class. Although I had lots of problems to solve, I more learned from this class. I learn to manage class without my cooperative teacher, learned to communicate with students by English language. I get lots of weakness but it good opportunity to develop myself one step.

Last week in Iloilo

Lest week, we had lots of activity. We went to Garinfarm where is
on top of the mountain to visit heaven on earth, Bucari Leon and
Guimaras Island with our buddy. In Addition, we joined salakayan festival.

I and Thai friends went to school to give some souvenirs to our mentor, our cooperative teacher and people who are supported and took care us. I felt sad when I think this last week to stay here. We practiced singing for performance in sanding off day. That first time for me to be single.

Lest day in here, I went outside with my buddy and Emelyn. We had lunch and spent little time together. That day I’m so happy and sad in same time.

One month in here, l learn a lot from this project. I think my English skill is better. First time for me so hard because I don’t understand what they said because different accent and I don’t know some word. But I told myself don’t stop to improve myself. Lastly, I want to say thank you for good opportunity to meet nice people who’re support me and give suggestion to me. I’ll save my good memories and In future I hope I’ll meet them again. See you:)
